Central defender Toto Nsiala felt Saturday’s 2-0 home defeat to Hull City summed-up the Blues’ miserable season.

Town dominated possession - 62 per cent to 38 - and had more shots on target than the Tigers but it was the visitors who ended the game ahead on the only statistic that ultimately matters, extending the Blues' winless run to 12 games.

They remain 13 points plus goal difference from safety with only seven games left.

“The game summed-up our season,” Nsiala admitted. “They had three shots on target, we had six. Two of theirs went in and three of ours were blocked on the line.

“It feels like nothing is dropping for us and we are conceding as well.
That is what it has been like most games.

“We will brush ourselves down and go again. Honestly, I have never seen anything like this the way everyone keeps going, looking to put smiles on people’s faces.”

Asked whether the only luck Town have had lately is bad luck, the Congo DRC international concurred: “That’s exactly what it is. It is what it is but we keep going.”

The summer signing from Shrewsbury praised the Portman Road atmosphere: “It thought it was brilliant for a team where we are. I don’t understand how it is possible with the support we get when we lose. They are still positive. I really appreciate the support.

“Being involved is good but I’m not enjoying it. I don't enjoy when we come off the pitch and we have been beaten or drawn when we should have won.”

Questioned on whether he’d now like the season to be over so he and his team-mates can get on with the next one, almost certainly in League One, he added: “No, not really. You would think that the lads want this over and done with and go into next season but they are not.

“Every Friday everyone is up for it, they want to play games, they want to do well and want to win and it kills us.

"It may be a weird thing to say but we don't want to season to end, we want to win games.”

The centre-half, who has been in and out of the side since Paul Lambert took charge, says he fully intends to be at Portman Road for 2019/20: “Whatever happens I will be here next season.”

Cakeman added 06:37 - Apr 1 I think Toto has been one of the very few positives this season. After a very indifferent start, Paul Lambert has kept faith in him and has started to give him some games. True he may not have had Matthew Pennington not got injured but none the less Toto has took his opportunity well and is beginning to adjust to the higher level of football that he was not used to. Could be a very strong player for us in division one and he seems to have a very good attitude as well.

Warkystache added 06:58 - Apr 1 Best of an indifferent bunch on Saturday. I just wish his teammates had the same attitude. He's clearly not the same class as a few but at least he puts a shift in and doesn't hide. He and Nolan have come good.

christiand added 07:28 - Apr 1 Still not convinced by him, but hope he comes good eventually perhaps it was a step too far, too soon this season? He's shown that he can cope well with the challenges of League One, which will give him confidence. Hopefully, he can kick on next year. We've certainly been a little unfortunate at times this season, but if you are bottom after 39 league games with 3 wins all season that's not solely down to bad luck. Sadly, we just haven't been good enough full-stop and have lacked the quality needed to compete!

Unfortunately this guy is not up to the standard of carter-vickers who he replaced . Carter -vickers was turned down by Hurst as not good enough! Sad times for our club and with the players we have a worrying time ahead.

blueboy1981 added 18:28 - Apr 1 In fairness most, if not all, of Hurst's signings were potentially good signings - they just found the step up difficult, which was to be expected by anyone who knows the game. People will realise that Hurst knew what he was looking for - just went about it possibly the wrong way.

Played well against Sheff Wed but dropped for an underperforming Chambers. Played well at Bristol City and dropped in favour of a loanee and now gets his 3rd start because that very same loanee is injured. Not really been given a chance imo. Played 10 games under Hurst and never disgraced himself. It seems strange that all of the players starring under Lambert are Paul Hursts signings (Edwards, Nolan, Chalobah,Nsiala and even Jackson who looks lively but needs to play up top with another striker). I think @blueboy1981 you are correct ...Paul Hurst knew what he was looking for - just went about it possibly (definitely) the wrong way.
